Summy Goes Wild, But Crushers Win
John Summy did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Schaumburg Boomers from losing, 12-10, to the Lake Erie Crushers at Warcats Ballpark. Summy was 2 for 2 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Jessie Shelby converted his 5th save in 6 tries. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Lake Erie.

Had Ian Campbell not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Campbell hit a 2-run double. That made the score 11-10, in favor of the Crushers.

"We came out aggressive," said Crushers manager Zac Massengill. "We came out swinging the bats."
