The Gateway Grizzlies grabbed a 5-3 win over the Florence Y'alls at Gunners Ballpark. Gateway center fielder Ken McFarlen went 3-4 with a triple and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs to earn player of the game honors. Bill Dagnall notched his 2nd save in 5 chances. The win puts the Grizzlies at 21-39, while the Y'alls drop to 37-23.

Gateway used the timely hitting of Ken Prine to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Grizzlies on top, 5-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said McFarlen.
