Y'alls Turn Back Washington, 5-3
|
The Florence Y'alls defeated the Washington Wild Things, 5-3, at Colonels Ballpark today. Leading the charge for Florence was shortstop Phil Taylor. He went 3-5 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs. Andy Brown nailed down his 14th save. Florence is now 35-21, while Washington is 26-30.
Taylor had a game-changing single in the top of the seventh. On a 0-1 cutter from John Pritzker, he banged a 2-run single to center, giving the Y'alls a 4-2 lead. It was the 35th hit of the year for Taylor.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Taylor told the Florence Today.
