Sonny K's 11 En Route to 3-2 Miners Win
Sussex County right-hander Mike Sonny made an effective start against the Schaumburg Boomers at Commodores Ballpark, leading his team to a 3-2 win. Jimmy Curtis converted his 11th save in 13 tries. The Miners sit in 5th place in the Frontier League Frontier Division with a record of 25-30.

Sonny was in the zone all game. He frustrated Schaumburg hitters while giving the Miners 6 innings of quality work. Sonny threw 82 pitches, allowing 2 hits and getting 11 punchouts.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Sussex County manager Jimmy Short.
