ThunderBolts Walk Off with 5-4 Win
Windy City and Washington duked it out at Gryphons Ballpark and the ThunderBolts came out victorious.

The Windy City ThunderBolts trumped the Washington Wild Things, 5-4, at Gryphons Ballpark. Windy City shortstop Mike Hughes was named player of the game for his performance. He was 2-3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. Windy City reliever Elijah Patterson picked up the win, upping his record to 2-3. Gabe Lodge took the loss.

The ThunderBolts got a lift from second baseman Brian Koral, who in the bottom of the ninth hit a run-scoring single. His 23rd hit of the season put the ThunderBolts on top, 5-4.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Washington manager Chad Bender. "But we decided not to take it."

Windy City now has a 3-game win streak.
