So Cal Republic starter Jerry Casados was in fine form against the Loachapoka Junebugs at House of the Republic, leading his team to a win, 5-2. In 8 innings, Casados surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. Eric Reichel was credited with the save for So Cal, his 9th of the season.

The Junebugs had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Republic going into the bottom of the third inning. That changed quickly when the 28-year old first baseman Spencer Beddall came to the plate. Beddall hit a 2-run double on a 1-1 fastball from Loachapoka hurler Khalil Haywood. It was Beddall's 8th double of the year.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Casados.
