| Indians Edge Panthers, 5-4 | Derby got a terrific game from third baseman Ryan Luffman. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Jefferson, 5-4. Luffman was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. At 18-25, the Indians are currently last in the Hank Aaron League Willie Mays Division.
Wally Graham chipped in for Jefferson with a solo home run in the bottom of the tenth. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
