| Schroeder Hits 2 home runs in Lions Win | The Lerna Lions cruised to a 15-4 win over the Riverside Poly at Apollos Ballpark today. Chad Schroeder led the way, going 4-for-6 for Lerna. The winner was Pierre Walter, who threw 144 pitches over 8.2 innings. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs on 8 hits. The Lions bumped their record to 21-21 with this latest triumph.
With Lerna leading 4-2 in the top of the fifth, Schroeder hit a fastball from Matt Rummel for a grand slam home run. It was his 11th home run of the season and put the Lions ahead, 8-2.
In postgame comments to the Lerna Daily News, Schroeder said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
