The Canby Lancers defeated the Montreal Cardinals, 6-3, in Pete Rose League action at Nezahualcoyotl HS Grounds, with Canby pitcher William Taylor named player of the game. The second-place Lancers have won 4 straight games.

Tim Riley, who is tied for 5th in the PRL in home runs with 12, aided the Canby cause with a solo home run in the top of the eighth. For the game, the right fielder hit 2 home runs.

"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Taylor.
