| Lions Score Late, Top Mustangs, 5-4 | The Lerna Lions defeated the Downsview Mustangs, 5-4, in Pete Rose League action at Ballpark of Ecatepec HS, with Lerna pitcher Je-won Lim named player of the game. Lerna reliever Jerry Walker picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Ellis Spatola absorbed the loss. The Lions bumped their record to 20-20 with this latest triumph.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Lerna left fielder Chad Schroeder, facing Ellis Spatola, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Lions the 5-4 win.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Lim.
