Gai Helps San Marin Cruise to 10-2 Win

The San Marin Mustangs beat the Kearny High Cardinals, 10-2, at Silvertips Ballpark. The win was largely due to the efforts of shortstop Jian-zhang Gai, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The Mustangs bumped their record to 23-17 with this latest triumph.

When the Mustangs needed a boost, it was the light-hitting Gai who delivered. Facing Kearny High pitcher Jimmy Ward the bottom of the third with runners on 1st and 2nd, Gai hit his 9th home run of the year. It made the score 8-0.

"It was a solid team effort," said Gai after the game.
