| Cardinals Edge Islanders, 4-3 | The Kearny High Cardinals picked up a win at Loggers Ballpark, knocking off the Grand Island Islanders, 4-3. On the mound for Kearny High was right-hander Jimmy Ward, who played a pivotal role in the win. Silas Lawson picked up the save for Kearny High, his 9th of the year. The Cardinals bumped their record to 22-13 with this latest triumph.
Chad Laun, who is tied for 9th in the HAL in bases on balls with 25, aided the Kearny High cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the designated hitter went 3-5 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Kearny High manager Seth Richert.
