Black Knights Need Extras to Top Aces

The Brooklyn Black Knights wiggled past the Las Vegas Aces, 4-3, at Sin City Stadium. Brooklyn pitcher Douggie Pitchford earned player of the game honors. Brooklyn reliever John Swope picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Nelson Cardona was saddled with the loss. The Black Knights, at 42-43, sit in third place in the Roberto Clemente League Christian Latulippe Division.

The Black Knights got a big at-bat from designated hitter Ray Roberts. For the game, Roberts was 2-5 with 2 singles. In the top of the tenth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 25th hit of the season gave Brooklyn a 4-3 lead.
