| Panthers Nip Lions, 11-10 | The Derby-Lerna matchup at Managua HS Grounds turned into a slugfest.
The Derby Panthers grabbed a 11-10 win over the Lerna Lions at Managua HS Grounds. Derby center fielder Rob Bradley went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs to earn player of the game honors. The Panthers, at 13-20, sit in 5th place in the Pete Rose League Roger Clemens Division.
Edgardo Cordero had a big 2-run single for the Panthers in the bottom of the seventh inning. With Derby trailing 10-9 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Alan Kruger and stroked the single to right. It was his 29th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Panthers ahead, 11-10.
"You win some, you lose some. I don't get too caught up in all that," said Bradley.
