| Patriots Throttle Cardinals, 9-1 | The George Washington Patriots racked up a win at Nezahualcoyotl HS Grounds, bumping off the Montreal Cardinals, 9-1. Willie Mays Jr., who started for George Washington, pitched effectively for his team. Mays Jr. got the win, improving to 3-0. He allowed 2 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. Mays Jr. allowed no earned runs. The Patriots have an impressive 22-7 record.
In the bottom of the seventh, Ed Bell stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Cardinals were trailing 9-1, but had the bases loaded. That's when Stephen Poste made a terrific pitch and Bell grounded out. Gone was the dream of a Montreal comeback.
