| Bay Stars Solve Swallows, 6-3 | The Yokohama Bay Stars topped the Tokyo Yakult Swallows, 6-3, with third baseman Yoshinaga Kawaguchi playing a big role. Kawaguchi was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Bay Stars in the win. Danny LaTour was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 2 save opportunities. The Bay Stars bumped their record to 32-28 with this latest triumph.
The Bay Stars got a big at-bat from center fielder John Adams. For the game, Adams was 1-4 with a double and a walk. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 6th double of the season gave Yokohama a 3-2 lead.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Adams told the Yokohama Daily News.
