| Tigers Prevail, 5-3, Over Yokohama | It was a fun time at Ballpark of Otofuke College, where the Yokohama Bay Stars and Hanshin Tigers tangled.
The Hanshin Tigers defeated the Yokohama Bay Stars, 5-3, in Central League action at Ballpark of Otofuke College, with Hanshin pitcher Yoichibei Sato named player of the game. Hanshin reliever Tsugio (Jiro) Ishii picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Masayoshi Ozaki took the loss.
The Tigers got a big at-bat from left fielder Sekien Honda. For the game, Honda went 2-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the seventh, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 5th double of the season gave Hanshin a 4-2 lead.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Honda.
The Tigers have an impressive 34-21 record.
