| Swallows Prevail, 4-3, Over Yomiuri | The Tokyo Yakult Swallows defeated the Yomiuri Giants, 4-3, in Central League action at Rebels Ballpark, with Tokyo Yakult pitcher Katsuya Nagaoka named player of the game. The Swallows raised their record to 21-34.
The Swallows got a big at-bat from designated hitter Billy O'Brien. For the game, O'Brien went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Tokyo Yakult a 3-2 lead.
O'Brien attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
