| Dragons Topple Swallows as Uchino Shines | The Chunichi Dragons topped the Tokyo Yakult Swallows by the score of 9-5, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder Tatsuyoshi Uchino. Uchino was 3 for 4 with a triple, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Dragons on the day. Chunichi reliever Mike Paul picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Mineo Azumano was saddled with the loss. Chunichi is now 24-25, Tokyo Yakult 19-30.
The Dragons got a big at-bat from left fielder Bryan Oeltjen. For the game, Oeltjen went 1 for 4. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 51st hit of the season gave Chunichi a 5-3 lead.
"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Uchino told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
