| Bay Stars Prevail, 3-2, Over Hiroshima Toyo | Yokohama beat Hiroshima Toyo at Cuckoos Stadium, eking out a 3-2 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Ben Olheiser, who earned player of the game honors. Satoshi Kawaguchi sewed up the save, his 11th. The Bay Stars bumped their record to 27-22 with this latest triumph.
The Bay Stars got a big at-bat from left fielder Ryoji Asano. For the game, Asano was 1 for 2 with 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run single. His 32nd hit of the season gave Yokohama a 3-2 lead.
"You come to the ballpark to do your job and that's what I did today," Olheiser told the Yokohama Daily News.
