| Swallows Stymie Yokohama, Take 4-1 Win | The Tokyo Yakult Swallows defeated the Yokohama Bay Stars, 4-1, in Central League action at Rebels Ballpark, with Tokyo Yakult pitcher Jared Berg named player of the game. The winning pitcher was Berg, now 1-2. He tossed 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. Toby Scott was credited with the save for Tokyo Yakult, his 7th of the season.
Chusuke Suzuki aided the Tokyo Yakult cause with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the second. For the game, the catcher went 1-2 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Yokohama manager Shunso Kono.
Tokyo Yakult bumps their record to 18-27 with the win.
