| Uchino Excels, But Carp Win | The Chunichi Dragons got a superb performance from right fielder Tatsuyoshi Uchino. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Hiroshima Toyo. The Carp won the game, 9-5. In spite of the loss, Uchino was named the player of the game. He was 3-3 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Hiroshima Toyo reliever Pong-su Ann picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Kiyoshi Takahashi was saddled with the loss. Chunichi's current losing streak is now 4 games.
