| Carp Continue Skid Thanks to Hsueh, Bay Stars | Bay Stars first baseman Xi-ku Hsueh put his stamp on his team's 7-4 win over the Hiroshima Toyo Carp. Hsueh went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for Yokohama in the contest. The winner was Riichi Suzuki, who threw 82 pitches over 5.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs on 3 hits. Earning his 7th save for Yokohama was Satoshi Kawaguchi.
