Giants Win at Tokyo Yakult, 7-3

Yomiuri withstood an impressive performance by Tokyo Yakult right fielder Hiroyuki Kikuchi to defeat the Swallows, 7-3, at Rebels Ballpark. Kikuchi went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. The win was credited to Okitsugu Morita in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Brad Henderson took the loss. Yomiuri now owns a record of 11-16.

Ryan King aided the Yomiuri cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the fourth. For the game, the designated hitter went 1 for 2 with a double and a walk.

"If we keep hitting the ball well, the wins will pile up," said Yomiuri skipper Masato Ojima.
