| Swallows Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start | Hidemichi Fukuda helped his team muscle past the Yokohama Bay Stars, 12-7. In the game, the Tokyo Yakult first baseman was 2 for 5 with 2 singles and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. Drew Marion, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed 3 runs on 4 hits in 3 innings. Toby Scott earned the save for Tokyo Yakult, his 1st of the year.
Hiroyuki Kikuchi had a big 2-run single for the Swallows in the bottom of the third inning. With Tokyo Yakult leading 4-3 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Ben Olheiser and stroked the single to left. It was his 11th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Swallows ahead, 6-3.
When asked about his performance after the game, Fukuda said: "Like everyone else, I'm just doing my job."
Even with the win, the Swallows have a dismal 5-10 record.
