| Giants Jolt Dragons with Late Rally | Muneyoshi Nakamura batted in 5 runs to lead Yomiuri to a win over Chunichi. The final score was 5-3. Nakamura chipped in with 1 single and 1 home run. The winner was Bill Brewer in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Corey Carr took the loss. Yomiuri is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Nakamura had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a first pitch fastball from Corey Carr, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Giants a 5-3 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Nakamura.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Nakamura said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
