| Dragons Score Late, Upend Tigers, 7-3 | Hanshin pitcher Seiichi Abe gave the Dragons all they could handle, but in the end, Chunichi left Ballpark of Otofuke College with a 7-3 win. Abe allowed no earned runs on 3 hits over 5.2 innings. Hirokazu Matsumoto, credited with the win, is now 1-1. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 3.1 innings.
