| Tigers Bang Out 11-4 Win Versus Yomiuri | Joe Adams was instrumental in his team's 11-4 triumph over the Yomiuri Giants. The center fielder went 1 for 3 with a double and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Hanshin Tigers. Hanshin reliever Tony Ornelas picked up the win to move to 2-0. Seisaku Moriwaki suffered the loss. The Tigers, now 4-1, have been playing some good baseball.
Adams had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the top of the first inning, when he drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Tigers went on to win.
"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Adams said in reaction to the win.
