| Swallows Score Late, Stun Tigers, 4-3 | The Tokyo Yakult Swallows knocked off the Hanshin Tigers, 4-3, at Ballpark of Otofuke College. Russ Babcock, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Tokyo Yakult won. The center fielder was 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Josh Lewis finished to wrap up his 1st save. With the win, Tokyo Yakult boosts its record to 1-1.
Babcock had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 1-1 fastball from Arihito Nakamura, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Swallows a 4-3 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Babcock.
"Credit where credit is due," said Babcock, "this was a team win."
