| Aces Fall Short, 5-4, at Brooklyn | The Brooklyn Black Knights scored a 5-4 win versus the Las Vegas Aces at Blue Ivy Stadium. Brooklyn third baseman Angel Soto nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. The save was credited to Ji-hwan Yea, his 2nd. Brooklyn goes to 5-3 with the win.
Had Katsuhiko Shimizu not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Shimizu hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Black Knights.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Shimizu said after the game.
