| Fighters Win at Saitama Seibu, 9-5 | The Fighters had to overcome a good performance from Saitama Seibu pitcher Andy Ludewig to claim a 9-5 win at Field of the Chariots. Ludewig went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Hokkaido Nippon-Ham reliever Will Wence picked up the win, upping his record to 1-3. Jeremy Schrimp took the loss. The last-place Lions have dropped 4 straight games.
Hokkaido Nippon-Ham used the bat of Alex Resendez to get the win. The first baseman hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Fighters ahead, 5-1. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Resendez told the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Gazette.
