| Nakai Goes Off, But Marines Win | Tohoku Rakuten first baseman Kunimichi Nakai was sensational. He belted 2 home runs, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Chiba Lotte beat the Golden Eagles, 8-5. Nakai was named the player of the game despite the loss. The Marines bumped their record to 28-26 with this latest triumph.
The Marines got a big at-bat from designated hitter Tat Guang. For the game, Guang went 1-5 with a triple. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the top of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Chiba Lotte a 4-2 lead.
"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Guang told the Chiba Lotte Citizen.
