| Golden Eagles Walk Off with 7-6 Win | Tohoku Rakuten beat Chiba Lotte at Sailboats Ballpark, eking out a 7-6 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Ben Matteson, who earned player of the game honors. The Golden Eagles are now 24-29, while the Marines fall to 27-26.
Mirza Nishapuri was the walk-off hero for Tohoku Rakuten. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Golden Eagles pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We got the victory," said Nishapuri. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
