The Saitama Seibu Lions beat the Chiba Lotte Marines, 11-5, at Field of the Chariots. The Lions got a fine performance from left fielder Chikashi Matsubara, who captured player of the game honors. He hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Saitama Seibu has now won 3 in a row.
