| Yoshimura Hits 2 home runs in Lions Win | The Saitama Seibu Lions stopped the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks, 9-1, at Field of the Chariots. The Lions got a big game from Yasusaburo Yoshimura, who hit 2 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice. Danny Thompson, credited with the win, is now 2-1. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 6.1 innings. The Lions raised their record to 19-23.
Yoshimura had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the fourth inning, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Lions went on to win.
