| Republic Win in Extras | Fans who congregated at Arson Arena were treated to extra-inning drama.
Bloomington got a terrific performance from pitcher Jack Mainjer, but it wasn't enough to beat the So Cal Republic. So Cal won the Arson Arena contest, 3-2. Mainjer was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. So Cal reliever George Fortin was the winner. His record is now 5-2. The losing pitcher was Matt Comrie. Tony Bacon was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 4 of 5 save opportunities.
Eddie Joost had a nice at-bat for the Republic with two out in the top of the ninth. With runners on 1st and 2nd, the shortstop drew a walk, which would prove important in the So Cal win.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said So Cal manager Adrián Carne.
The first-place Republic have a one-game lead in their division.
