| Victory Pushes Marines Record to 16-15 | The Chiba Lotte Marines topped the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks, 5-1, in Pacific League action at Ballpark of Aomori College. The player of the game was Chiba Lotte pitcher and Seoul, South Korea native Insung Yim. In 6.2 innings, Yim surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. The third-place Marines are now 16-15, the Hawks 19-12.
The Marines got a big at-bat from designated hitter Tat Guang. For the game, Guang went 1-5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Chiba Lotte a 4-1 lead.
