| Late Rally by Buffaloes Secures Win | The ORIX Buffaloes bested the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks by a score of 3-2, with right fielder Munenao Muramatsu getting the main credit. On the day, Muramatsu went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs for the Buffaloes. ORIX reliever Wu-jiang Qin was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Tim Hedrick took the loss for Fukuoka SoftBank. The Buffaloes bumped their record to 13-11 with this latest triumph.
Muramatsu had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a first pitch curveball from Tim Hedrick, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Buffaloes a 3-2 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Muramatsu.
"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Muramatsu told the ORIX Today.
