| Lions Come Back Late to Top Fighters | Field of the Chariots was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Saitama Seibu Lions and the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters.
The Saitama Seibu Lions defeated the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters, 6-5, in Pacific League action at Field of the Chariots, with Saitama Seibu left fielder Takashi Goto named player of the game. Saitama Seibu, at 11-11, sits in third place in the Pacific Division.
Baiko Kawano, who is tied for 7th in the PL in RBI with 14, aided the Saitama Seibu cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the center fielder went 1 for 3 with 2 walks.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Saitama Seibu manager Jim Hill.
