The Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles did just enough to sneak past the Saitama Seibu Lions, 3-2, at Sailboats Ballpark. Tohoku Rakuten first baseman Kunimichi Nakai earned player of the game honors. Sang-Seung Lee closed it out for his 1st save. The Golden Eagles sit in last place in the Pacific Division with a record of 9-12.

Nakai drew 3 walks. He drove in 2 runs against the Lions. With the game tied in the bottom of the fifth inning, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run that scored 1 and put Tohoku Rakuten in front, 3-2.
