| Hawks Slip Past Chiba Lotte, 3-2 | The Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks bested the Chiba Lotte Marines, 3-2, at Ballpark of Nasu College. Eiichi Kawasaki was named player of the game. He slugged 2 home runs. Soichi Sato recorded the save for Fukuoka SoftBank, his 7th of the season. With the win over Chiba Lotte, the Hawks improved to 10-7.
Kawasaki had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a 1-2 fastball from Jason Kinder, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Hawks a 3-2 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Kawasaki.
"We didn't go down without a fight," said Chiba Lotte manager Don Cooper.
