| Yim Excels, But Hawks Win | Myung-bak Yim had a good game, but he could not keep the Chiba Lotte Marines from falling, 11-9, to the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks at Ballpark of Nasu College. The Chiba Lotte catcher was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 4 in the loss. The winner was Fukuoka SoftBank reliever Tomotaka Nakamura, now 1-0. The loser was Insung Yim. Picking up the save was Soichi Sato, his 6th.
Shinji Tanaka aided the Fukuoka SoftBank cause with a 3-run home run in the top of the second. For the game, the right fielder was 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Tanaka told the Fukuoka SoftBank Today.
The Hawks bumped their record to 9-7 with this latest triumph.
