| Late Rally by Golden Eagles Secures Win | The Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles picked up a win at Ballpark of Aomori College, knocking off the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks, 2-1. On the mound for Tohoku Rakuten was right-hander Geoff Willoughby, who played a pivotal role in the win. The Golden Eagles now have a record of 6-9.
Tohoku Rakuten used a timely hit from Wan-ling Bai to get the win. The left fielder delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Golden Eagles on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Willoughby said.
