| Critch Delivers Walk-Off Win for Lions | Tomohiro Isobe did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Chiba Lotte Marines from losing, 9-8, to the Saitama Seibu Lions at Field of the Chariots. Isobe belted 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. The Lions, at 9-6, lead by one game in their division.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Saitama Seibu third baseman Andy Critch, facing Adam Petti, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Lions the 9-8 win.
In postgame remarks, Critch said: "To all who've been doubting my effort -- I hope they saw this game."
