| Fighters Lose to Marines in Walk Off | The Chiba Lotte Marines got a strong performance from pitcher Matt Lieber, who stymied the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham offense en route to a 3-2 win at Ballpark of Nasu College. With their winning streak at 4, the Marines have raced to a strong start this season.
Bill Montgomery had a nice at-bat for the Marines with no one out in the bottom of the 13th. With runners on 1st and 2nd, the left fielder drew a walk, which would prove important in the Chiba Lotte win.
"Tough ballgame, tough loss," said Hokkaido Nippon-Ham manager Franck Marion.
