| Golden Eagles Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start | It was a good time at Sailboats Ballpark, where fans came to watch the ORIX Buffaloes and Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles get after it.
The Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles topped the ORIX Buffaloes, 6-1, with first baseman Kunimichi Nakai playing a big role. Nakai went 3 for 3 with 3 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Golden Eagles in the win. Tohoku Rakuten reliever Nagateru Furuya picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jeff Malone was saddled with the loss.
Nakai had a game-changing single in the bottom of the seventh. On a 0-1 fastball from Mike Ratliff, he banged a run-scoring single to right, giving the Golden Eagles a 2-1 lead. It was the 10th hit of the year for Nakai.
Nakai called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
Tohoku Rakuten is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 4th in 10 games.
