Lions Squelch Fighters Offense in Shutout Win

Saitama Seibu Lions starter Shigeyori Yagi turned in an exceptional performance against the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters at Ballpark of Hakui College, resulting in a Saitama Seibu win, 5-0. Every game is important, even these early ones, if the Lions hope to make a postseason run.

Dakota Medwid, who is the 2nd-best prospect in the Lions organization, chipped in for Saitama Seibu with a 2-run home run in the top of the first. For the game, the shortstop had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
