| Pawlak 3-4, Fighters Move to 4-1 | The Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters defeated the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks, 7-5, at Ballpark of Hakui College today. Leading the charge for Hokkaido Nippon-Ham was catcher Bob Pawlak. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5. Tan Jue earned the save for Hokkaido Nippon-Ham, his 1st of the year. Hokkaido Nippon-Ham goes to 4-1 with the win.
Pawlak had a game-changing double in the bottom of the eighth. On a 1-2 cutter from Kelly Faris, he banged a 2-run double to center, giving the Fighters a 6-5 lead. It was the 2nd double of the year for Pawlak.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Pawlak told the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Gazette.
