| Golden Eagles Win at Saitama Seibu, 12-5 | The Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles powered past the Saitama Seibu Lions, 12-5, at Field of the Chariots. Jim Davis was 2 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4, to lead the charge. Tohoku Rakuten reliever Chris Barker picked up the win to move to 1-0. Shintaro Ogawa suffered the loss. Tohoku Rakuten, now 3-2, has gotten their season off to a good start.
The Golden Eagles got a big at-bat from catcher Taylor Rounsville. For the game, Rounsville went 1 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. In the top of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Tohoku Rakuten a 4-0 lead.
