| Golden Eagles Turn Back Saitama Seibu, 8-7 | Tohoku Rakuten beat Saitama Seibu at Field of the Chariots, eking out a 8-7 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Nate Collins, who earned player of the game honors. The save was Jamie Tighe's, his 1st. With the loss, Saitama Seibu sinks to 2-2.
Chiaki Tani aided the Tohoku Rakuten cause with a 2-run single in the top of the first. For the game, the center fielder went 2-5 with 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"We came out aggressive," said Golden Eagles manager Javier Quintana. "We came out swinging the bats."
